I recorded a peak wind gust of 57mph during this storm. The barometric pressure dropped to 28.58". Sandy deposited 0.72" of rain here in Bergenfield, New Jersey. Power outages were widespread throughout Bergen County as falling trees pulled down telephone poles and power lines. Just to the South, in New York City and along the New Jersey shore line, a record storm surge resulting in devastating flooding.
